How We Ended Up Here
In all honesty, I expected myself to get this blog set up by the beginning of 2023 and I thought I'd already be on my way to achieving my resolution of finally blogging. But then I remembered how pointless it is to hold your creativity to a schedule that you're not ready for or one that doesn't work for you. So here it is twenty-something days late; twenty-something days right on time. When I think about my tendency to make New Year's resolutions, I think about how all the things I've wanted to accomplish in life came in their own time. No matter how hard I've tried to manipulate the timing of things, the manipulation only led me to unnecessary stress. So in 2023, I resolve to throw away the short-sighted resolutions and focus on long-term goals. Goals that might come to fruition when I least expect them to, but trust that they will be achieved when I need them most to be. This blog for me will be akin to that; a way to document the happenings of life and appreciate when amazing things happen and reflect on why the challenges of life appear.

I'm currently about to embark on a huge journey and participate in the Disney College Program. I've wanted to go do this for something like seven years, but I never thought I'd just go out and do it on a whim. I quite literally applied after watching a video on TikTok pushing the notion "if you never try, how will you know?" I want to take that into the rest of the year with me as well. So many of the best experiences of my life have come from moments where I didn't let fear, doubt, or the tendency to differ things until later get in the way of my yes. Say yes to more things and more things will say yes to you. The more you put yourself out there the more you open yourself up to the possibility of making each day amazing. This being said, I can't avoid the nerves I feel being away from my support systems in Hawaii and California, but I'm hoping to grow a new circle. I have faith in myself that this will be an amazing journey and when it's time to return to O'ahu, I'll have even more stories to tell. I

start my journey to Orlando, Florida on January 27th and will be sure to update you more then. In the meantime, why don't I end this quick post by celebrating some of the amazing things 2022 brought me.
